Description of Works
The project incorporated high quality natural stone paving, footway surfacing, drainage works and amenity tree and
shrub planting with areas of soft landscaping. Stainless steel street furniture was installed, new road signage erected and thermoplastic road markings applied. The works were located within the busy Falkirk Town Centre and required extensive traffic management to ensure the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and considered planning at site level to minimise disruption and nuisance.
The project was split into 7 phases, splitting the working areas into separate areas to programme the capital works efficiently.
The project required effective management of TTRO, Road Notice and parking restriction applications, statutory notifications to Public Utilities, Police and bus companies. Resident notifications and business questionnaires were circulated to maintain effective communication with the general public and local business community.
