Abernethy Street Milnbank Backcourts - Block C
Description of Works
Caley Construction Ltd were appointed by Milnbank HA Ltd as Principal Contractor. The project was environmental improvement works to Backcourts on Duke St, Dreghorn St, Abernethy St and Aitken St, Glasgow. This was the 3rd Phase of backcourt improvements scheme carried out.
The works comprised of the formation of small backcourts including installation of fencing, paths network, flower beds and drying areas. Works included re-painting of existing fences and provision of new bin stores. Remedial works were carried out to the existing retaining walls and creation of new walls retaining up to 1m along with the construction of new stairs. Electrical works included the installation of new bin-store lighting and lighting at each back court entrance. In addition, existing dropped kerbs were replaced with reflective bollards on Duke Street. General Soft Landscaping works were undertaken including the planting of shrubs and bushes.
